1 Month Post-Op: Autologous Rib Cartilage Revision Rhinoplasty at RU Plastic Surgery
본문

I decided to undergo a revision rhinoplasty after becoming increasingly frustrated with my persistently low nasal profile,
despite having already undergone surgery.
My previous procedure was performed at a local clinic that was affordable and convenient,
but in hindsight, using only silicone and auricular cartilage may not have been sufficient for my case.
Once the swelling subsided, there was barely any noticeable improvement in shape or projection.
After researching extensively and speaking with a friend who works as a surgical consultant in the aesthetic field,
I was introduced to RU Plastic Surgery.
I had a consultation with Dr. Hyun Joo Kim
and was impressed with his clear understanding of revision strategies
and his honest assessment of my nasal limitations.
I felt confident enough to proceed with the surgery.
The surgical plan included using autologous rib cartilage for the tip, a silicone implant for the dorsum,
columellar lengthening, short nose correction, and columellar reconstruction. Although I still wish the height could be slightly more pronounced,
Dr. Kim had informed me that my thin skin would limit how much projection could safely be achieved.
Even so, the improvement is noticeable—even to those around me.
People have commented that my nose looks significantly better, and I’m personally happy with the aesthetic outcome.
The design reflects exactly what I envisioned,
and I feel this revision was a step in the right direction.
