3 Months After Revision Rhinoplasty for Contracted Nose – Satisfied with Results
본문

It has now been three months since I underwent revision rhinoplasty for a contracted nose.
After consulting with several surgeons, I ultimately chose Dr. Hyunjoo Kim at RU Plastic Surgery—and I’m fully satisfied with that decision.
Around one month post-op, I noticed a small lump near the radix,
but just as the consultant and Dr. Kim had explained, it gradually subsided over time. Now, it’s barely visible.
My previously over-rotated tip has been stably maintained using autologous rib cartilage,
and the prominent postoperative swelling has mostly subsided.
At this point, even residual swelling is minimal—I feel like my nose looks great in photos from all angles.
The revision involved using autologous rib cartilage for both the nasal bridge and tip. For the dorsum,
the DCF technique was used, in which diced cartilage is wrapped in deep temporal fascia and placed like an implant.
Although some surgeons and online forums expressed concerns about the potential absorption rate or irregular contours with this method,
my results have been smooth and symmetrical so far, which I’m very happy about.
The scar from the rib cartilage harvest site is still a bit redder than I expected, so I’ve been diligently applying scar gel to help it fade.
