1 Month After Male Rhinoplasty Using Autologous Rib Cartilage for Columellar Retraction
본문

I had always planned to undergo rhinoplasty after reaching adulthood,
as I was self-conscious about my low nasal bridge and the unusual shape of my nasal tip.
While researching for surgery, I learned that my case was more complex than expected due to severe columellar retraction and internalized nasal support structures.
Most clinics I visited told me that septal or ear cartilage alone wouldn’t provide sufficient structural support for proper correction.
That’s when I realized autologous rib cartilage would be the most reliable graft material for my case.
I started consulting with surgeons who specialize in rib cartilage rhinoplasty.
Eventually, I came across RU Plastic Surgery through social media. One of their videos showed a case with a nasal structure very similar to mine,
where the outcome looked remarkably improved. I scheduled a consultation with Dr. Hyunjoo Kim, and as expected,
he confirmed that strong structural correction using rib cartilage would be necessary in my case.
I appreciated how Dr. Kim walked me through the surgical plan using diagrams on a tablet,
showing different potential nasal lines—including both my preferences and his recommendations.
RU Plastic Surgery also had a very well-organized post-op care system, which stood out compared to other clinics.
Now, a little over a month post-op, I’m very satisfied with my outcome.
The straight nasal profile I wanted has been achieved, and the overall shape looks refined and balanced.
For any male patients considering primary or revision rhinoplasty—especially those with challenging anatomy like columellar retraction—
I highly recommend scheduling a consultation with RU Plastic Surgery. (Consultations are free of charge.)
