Two Months After Primary Rhinoplasty with Autologous Rib Cartilage
본문

I’ve struggled with a deep-seated complex about my nose since I was young, which ultimately led me to decide on rhinoplasty.
My concerns were a low nasal bridge, drooping tip, and a wide appearance from the front. While searching for a clinic, I came across RU Plastic Surgery.
I was initially drawn to their reputation for revision rhinoplasty, which gave me confidence in their surgical expertise.
I also had reservations about using donated rib cartilage,
so the fact that Dr. Hyun Joo Kim mainly works with autologous rib cartilage was a key reason I chose to schedule a consultation.
During the consultation, the coordinator was extremely kind and honest,
and Dr. Kim thoroughly explained not only the design aspects but also the full surgical procedure and post-op precautions,
which made me feel at ease going into surgery.
I underwent general anesthesia and had a combination of silicone for the bridge and autologous rib cartilage for the tip.
Surprisingly, I experienced minimal swelling after the surgery—so much so that everyone around me commented on how normal I looked,
and I was able to return to daily activities quite quickly. Although I was initially worried about pain from the rib cartilage harvesting,
I was moving comfortably just a few days later.
The swelling subsided very quickly, and many people couldn't even tell I had surgery.
I find myself enjoying selfies more now that I’m happy with my appearance.
I have no regrets and plan to continue taking good care of my nose moving forward.
