Two Months After Secondary Revision Rhinoplasty for Contracted Nose with Columellar-Labial Angle Correction
본문

This was my second revision rhinoplasty.
My first surgery was about 5 years ago using ear cartilage and a silicone implant.
Then, around 3 years ago, I had a revision with autologous rib cartilage.
However, not long after that second surgery, I began experiencing inflammatory acne around my nasal dorsum, accompanied by swelling and heat.
When I visited the original clinic, they told me it was an emergency situation.
They said I needed to have both the implant and rib cartilage removed immediately.
After that emergency removal, my nose became significantly shorter, more upturned, and visibly deformed.
I couldn't live with it—so I started extensively researching revision rhinoplasty for contracted nose correction.
That's when I discovered that Dr. Hyunjoo Kim at RU Plastic Surgery had the most reviews and cases for complex contracted nose revisions.
So I decided to book a consultation with him.
Now it's been just over two months since the surgery, and I have no discomfort.
Compared to my one-month mark, the nose now appears slimmer from the front and the profile line looks more refined.
Before the surgery, I had one session of stem cell injection therapy,
and for the revision, we used autologous rib cartilage for the dorsum,
along with diced cartilage and temporal fascia, which are known to be safer materials for this type of high-risk revision.
I was informed that my nasal tip and bridge will continue to slim down and settle over time, so I’m waiting patiently.
Friends and people around me have been complimenting the result, saying I look much better and more refined—
so I’m honestly just feeling really happy these days.
