1 Month After Dorsal and Tip Reconstruction Using Full Autologous Rib Cartilage
본문

I used to be bothered by how my nose would spread when I smiled,
and how it looked bulbous and undefined from the front.
From the side, the uneven transition between the bridge and tip made it even more obvious.
I decided to undergo rhinoplasty using autologous rib cartilage,
as I was afraid of possible complications from implants.
While researching, I found out that implant-free rhinoplasty is indeed possible.
Among the clinics that offer full rib cartilage procedures,
RU Plastic Surgery stood out.
Their facility was the cleanest, their before-and-after photos matched my desired outcome,
and the consultation with Dr. Hyunjoo Kim was detailed and highly professional.
So I chose to have both the nasal bridge and tip reconstructed using full autologous rib cartilage.
As for the rib harvest site,
some say it feels like being shot—but in my case,
it just felt like muscle soreness after an intense workout.
A week later, the only discomfort was when I coughed or felt body heaviness,
but there was no real pain.
The only issues were having to breathe through my mouth due to nasal congestion,
a slight sense of pressure or tightness from the firmness of the rib graft,
and a bit of heaviness at the tip of the nose.
But these were expected to improve with time, so I wasn’t too worried.
Now at the one-month mark,
there’s still some minor sensation, but nothing significant.
I didn’t want anything too sharp or overly defined—
I just wanted a naturally structured and refined nose.
And I think the outcome aligns well with what I hoped for.
Thank you, Dr. Hyunjoo Kim and RU Plastic Surgery!
