Al-Yu Plastic Surgery Clinic Rhinoplasty – 2-Week Review
본문

I had long been bothered by my nose appearing too wide from the front,
lacking clear definition, and by the visibility of my nostrils
from both the frontal and angled views.
I had been considering rhinoplasty for quite some time,
and when a friend of mine achieved a very natural and beautiful result,
I decided to schedule a consultation as well.
I personally prefer a natural look that doesn’t appear overly “done.”
During my consultation with Dr. Hyun Joo Kim,
he pointed out asymmetries in my nose that I hadn’t even noticed before
and explained how they could be corrected through surgery.
I especially appreciated how the consultation was tailored to my facial structure,
including my forehead volume and overall balance,
which helped build a strong sense of trust.
Initially, I was concerned about pain associated with using autologous rib cartilage.
However, knowing that RU Plastic Surgery is a specialized clinic
with an in-house anesthesiology team reassured me
and allowed me to make the decision with confidence.
Because my nasal cartilage was relatively weak,
Dr. Kim explained that using autologous rib cartilage
would provide a strong and stable framework,
help prevent future drooping,
and ultimately create a more refined and lasting result.
He also showed me reference photos during the consultation,
which further increased my confidence.
The surgical plan involved using rib cartilage and a silicone implant
to correct the irregularities
and adjust the nasal height to better suit my face.
To address my concern about wide nostrils,
we also included alar base reduction.
After surgery, I was surprised that the rib cartilage donor site
was not very painful and that the incision was quite small.
I remember thinking,
“I really chose the right specialized clinic.”
The only discomfort I clearly recall
was the extreme dryness in my throat from the anesthesia.
Now, about two weeks post-operation,
my nasal tip is still slightly swollen,
but the contour is already well-defined,
and I’m very pleased with how it looks from the front.
My side profile also looks naturally beautiful.
I still feel some tightness in the columella area when I smile,
but it has been gradually improving,
and the visibility of my nostrils is also decreasing.
Dr. Kim had explained that the nasal tip might appear slightly elevated at first,
but I’m satisfied with it and don’t find it concerning.
During the first week, after removing the nasal packing and splint,
I experienced occasional nosebleeds, which worried me,
so I contacted the clinic.
The staff calmly explained that this was due to dryness of the nasal mucosa
and reassured me that I could reach out anytime.
Since then, I’ve been diligent about applying the prescribed ointment regularly,
as skipping it seemed to worsen the symptoms.
What I appreciate most is that,
despite my concern about changing my facial impression too drastically,
Dr. Kim achieved a delicate, natural-looking improvement
that suits my features perfectly without appearing artificial.
It truly feels like a custom-tailored surgery,
and I am extremely satisfied with the result.
