One Month After Bulbous Nose Correction at R.U. Plastic Surgery

I had always thought that I would get plastic surgery once I became an adult.
After completing my military service,
I began looking into surgery schedules
and compared about three to four clinics,
including large hospitals and solo-practitioner clinics.
Some clinics recommended both rhinoplasty
and facial contouring procedures such as zygoma reduction
and mandibular angle surgery,
while others focused solely on rhinoplasty.
RU Plastic Surgery was the only solo-practice clinic
where the surgeon personally performed
both rhinoplasty and facial contouring procedures.
Dr. Hyunjoo Kim explained that my nose
had strong potential for a noticeable transformation,
while also advising that jaw surgery was not strictly necessary
unless I personally wanted it.
That honest and balanced perspective felt very trustworthy,
which led me to proceed with rhinoplasty alone at RU.
One of the biggest advantages for me
was the structured postoperative care system.
RU provided a very detailed follow-up schedule in the early stages,
with frequent checkups that were all personally handled by Dr. Kim.
This level of direct involvement and consistent follow-up
gave me great reassurance and played a major role in my decision.
The consultation manager who guided me throughout the process
was also incredibly kind and helpful.
My surgery was performed under general anesthesia.
For the surgical materials,
autologous rib cartilage was used for the nasal tip,
and silicone was used for the dorsum and radix.
The procedure also included bulbous nose correction,
short nose correction,
and columellar support
(although I don’t remember every technical detail clearly now).
Now, just over one month after surgery,
the major swelling has gone down significantly.
Areas that initially felt soft and puffy
are starting to feel firmer.
Dr. Kim explained that this is a normal part
of scar tissue maturation,
which reassured me greatly.
Whenever I had questions,
I received quick and thorough explanations.
Visually, the bulbous nose correction
has been very successful.
At this point,
I would say I am more than 90% satisfied with the results.
