1 Month Post-Op Bulbous Nose Revision (Autologous Rib Cartilage + Columella Correction + Alar Reduction)
본문

It has been one month since I underwent bulbous nose revision surgery
with Dr. Hyun Joo Kim, so I wanted to share a quick review.
My first rhinoplasty was about six years ago at a large hospital.
I believe septal cartilage and silicone were used,
but I honestly don’t remember the details clearly.
At the time, I didn’t know much about rhinoplasty
and simply assumed any hospital would deliver good results,
so I went into surgery with very high expectations.
However, after the operation,
my nose somehow appeared shorter and more upturned,
and oddly enough, it looked even more bulbous than before.
I waited, assuming it was swelling,
but the shape never really improved.
Revision surgery was always in the back of my mind.
A few months ago, a friend of mine underwent revision rhinoplasty,
and her result looked so good that I immediately asked where she had it done.
She told me it was at RU Plastic Surgery,
so I wrote her name down as my referrer and booked a consultation.
Because RU operates as a single-surgeon clinic,
the atmosphere felt completely different from large, factory-style hospitals—
quiet, private, and very respectful of patient privacy.
Even after the consultation,
I was given a detailed postoperative care guide and instructions,
clearly organized on a card that was very easy to understand.
Most importantly, I trusted Dr. Kim’s aesthetic sense.
My friend’s beautiful result had already convinced me,
but the consultation itself exceeded my expectations.
Dr. Kim’s consultation was even longer and more detailed
than the session with the consultation manager.
He was incredibly thorough, kind, and sincere,
and I could genuinely feel how much he cares about his patients.
I decided to schedule my revision surgery right away.
The surgical plan included autologous rib cartilage for the nasal tip,
silicone for the bridge,
bulbous tip correction,
columella lengthening,
and alar reduction.
Now, one month post-op,
the bulbous appearance has decreased significantly,
and the overall nasal line looks much more refined.
Previously, my columella was barely visible,
which made my nose look unnaturally short.
Now, the proportions feel well balanced,
as if my nose finally fits my face properly.
So far, I am very happy with the results.
From the frontal view,
I noticed some firm scar tissue along the side of my nasal bridge.
Dr. Kim explained that this is common in revision cases
and that it can fluctuate after the first month.
He also reassured me that, if necessary,
it can be managed later with injections.
It honestly feels wonderful to be cared for this attentively.
