Bulbous Nose Rhinoplasty with Autologous Rib Cartilage – 2 Months Post-Op

Having a nose that was much larger than average had always been one of my biggest insecurities.
I disliked taking photos with people who had smaller noses
because it made me even more self-conscious.
Before choosing RU Plastic Surgery,
I visited several clinics for consultations,
but none of them clearly explained
how my surgery would actually be performed
or walked me through the procedure in detail.
During my consultation at RU Plastic Surgery,
I first discussed all of my concerns with the Consultation Manager.
Then I met with Dr. Hyun Joo Kim,
who carefully explained what changes would be needed
to achieve the nose I wanted.
He went through every step of the surgical plan
and even used photos to help me understand,
which gave me a great deal of confidence in choosing the clinic.
I also had a severely deviated septum
and significant nasal obstruction,
so I underwent septoplasty as part of my functional rhinoplasty.
For the cosmetic portion,
a silicone implant was used for the bridge,
autologous rib cartilage for the nasal tip,
and I also had alar reduction.
Because my nasal tip was already relatively high,
I was initially worried that using rib cartilage
would make it look even higher.
However, after my consultation,
I actually felt convinced
that autologous rib cartilage was the best option for my case.
Since this was my first plastic surgery,
I was nervous after the operation
and messaged the Consultation Manager almost every day.
I was also worried about swelling,
but surprisingly,
I had very little swelling,
and the bruising disappeared quickly,
allowing me to return to my normal routine much sooner than I expected.
The rib cartilage donor site became much more comfortable
after about the second day,
and I honestly never felt any real pain in my nose itself.
The biggest change for me
is that my nose looks so much smaller than before,
which has completely resolved the insecurity
that bothered me for so many years.
As the remaining swelling continues to improve,
both my bridge and tip are looking better and better,
and I'm happier with the result every day.
I no longer have to edit my photos
because of the width of my nose,
and my side profile has turned out exactly the way I had hoped.
Overall,
I couldn't be happier with the outcome.
