2 Weeks Post-Op – Male Rhinoplasty with Autologous Rib Cartilage
본문

Before > After
When I was younger, I used to do taekwondo and ended up injuring my nose, which led to a crooked nose. Over time, it became more and more noticeable, so I started seriously considering rhinoplasty.
Through someone I know, I found out about RU Plastic Surgery. The results looked great, and after hearing more about their experience, I was introduced to Dr. Kim Hyun-joo.
That’s how I ended up getting male rhinoplasty using autologous rib cartilage.
Since I already had a relatively high nasal bridge, Dr. Kim recommended going implant-free, using no silicone. My nasal bones were quite wide, so we included osteotomy and hump correction. Also, since my nose tip was a bit upturned, we added short nose correction as well.
I wanted a clean, straight-line masculine nose, but I specifically asked for the tip to stay round—not pointy. I also mentioned I didn’t want my nostrils to show too much, and Dr. Kim explained that the short nose correction would naturally take care of that.
The surgery was done under general anesthesia. When I woke up, my throat felt really sore, kind of like a bad cold, because of the intubation. The first and second days were definitely the toughest. After they removed the nasal packing, things got more bearable.
That said, the area where they harvested the rib cartilage was still sore, so I had to move around carefully. But the post-op care at RU has been solid, and I followed all their instructions.
Now that I’m at the 2-week mark, most of the swelling is already gone, and I feel like I’ve got the nose I was hoping for.
Of course, I’ll keep monitoring it, but so far I’m super satisfied—and I really don’t think I’ll ever need a revision.
