1 Week After Functional Rhinoplasty with Autologous Rib Cartilage
본문

The reason I decided to undergo surgery was because my nose lacked definition, and the wide,
flared nostrils made it feel like my nose had no presence. This was my first cosmetic surgery, and although eye surgery feels more common these days,
nose surgery still felt a bit intimidating to me. I wanted a clinic that prioritized both safety and natural results.
After doing tons of research and reading reviews from people with noses similar to mine,
I found R.U. Plastic Surgery. The nose lines in their before-and-after photos looked exactly like what I wanted—refined but still natural.
In particular, I liked that the bridge and tip looked clearly enhanced, but the silicone implant didn’t appear obvious or chalky under the skin.
It looked clean and harmonized well with the face. The consultation process included a session with the coordinator,
followed by a thorough consultation with Dr. Hyunjoo Kim, and then a final discussion about costs.
Compared to other clinics I visited, the doctor’s involvement here was much more significant.
Most places rely heavily on the coordinator for medical explanations, but Dr. Kim personally went over all the details, answered every question, and made me feel really comfortable.
Because I was looking for a safe and structured approach, I really appreciated their aftercare system as well.

The nose design I wanted was something that fit my face first and foremost, with a clean, straight-to-straight-sloped profile.
Right now, it’s only been a week since surgery, so my nose still looks a little swollen and upturned from the front.
But I was told this will improve as swelling subsides. I’m hopeful that the healing will continue smoothly.
From the side, the profile is already looking amazing—so much so that my friends keep asking me where I got it done!
A couple of them even went for consultations after hearing my experience.
The only thing making them hesitate was the idea of using rib cartilage, which can feel a bit intense.

For anyone worried about bruising after the splint is removed in the first week—I had a bit of yellow bruising, but Luna foundation and The Saem concealer did a great job covering it!
