It’s been over 4 months since my nose revision surgery to fix my upturned nose!

My first rhinoplasty was done using a silicone implant for the bridge
and ear cartilage for the tip.
At the time, I didn’t research the surgeon very thoroughly,
because the procedure was done together with my eye surgery.
Initially, my nose looked slightly lifted due to swelling,
which I assumed was normal.
However, about two years later, my nose gradually became shorter and more upturned,
and the area between the bridge and the tip started to look sunken.
I was very happy with my eye surgery,
but I knew my nose needed to be revised.
They say rhinoplasty has one of the highest revision rates,
and that was definitely true in my case.
That’s when I decided to visit Dr. Hyun Joo Kim at RU Plastic Surgery for revision surgery.
Dr. Kim used autologous rib cartilage to create a septal extension graft for my nasal tip.
He explained that this method would provide strong, stable support
so the nose would not lift, shorten, or deform again over time.
He also used autologous fascia to reduce the risk of foreign body reactions from implants,
which helps prevent long-term complications.
Dr. Kim has extensive experience with severe revision cases,
including contracted noses and deformities caused by infection,
and I could truly feel how seriously and carefully he approached my case.
Now, my nose looks exactly the way I wanted.
The bridge is straight with no sunken areas,
and the nasal tip has been properly lowered.
People I meet now immediately notice the change in my nose
and often ask me where I had it done.
Before, they would only ask whether I had a nose job—
never about the clinic or the surgeon.
I sometimes want to keep it as my little secret,
but in the end, I proudly tell them
it was done by Dr. Hyun Joo Kim at RU Plastic Surgery.
