1-Week Review – Male Rhinoplasty by Dr. Hyunjoo Kim (Autologous Rib Cartilage Tip, Silicone Bridge, Alar Base Reduction, Osteotomy, Bulbous Tip Correction) Surgery at RU Plastic Surgery
본문
To start with, I had very noticeable nostril show when viewed from the front.
My nose was short and slightly upturned, so I knew I needed a surgeon who could lengthen and project it properly—
in a natural way, not by forcing it.
That is how I came to consider RU Plastic Surgery.
During my first visit, the consultation manager explained the overall process, schedule, and basic information clearly,
which helped me feel comfortable before meeting the doctor.
After that, all discussions about my actual nose, structure, and surgical plan were done directly with Dr. Hyunjoo Kim.
As I reviewed before-and-after photos and patient reviews,
I noticed something very different about Dr. Kim’s results.
He lengthens the nose, but always in a balanced and natural way,
clearly tailored to each individual’s facial structure.
Some other clinics I researched also showed good results,
but many of the noses looked almost identical.
Regardless of gender or facial shape,
the designs felt standardized rather than personalized.
They were attractive noses,
but they did not feel custom-made.
Dr. Kim’s work felt different.
Each result looked carefully designed to suit the individual face,
and that sense of personalization is what ultimately drew me in.
He also has extensive experience with autologous rib cartilage harvesting,
which gave me additional confidence in choosing this clinic.
After surgery, I realized that RU Plastic Surgery is also widely known
for complex contracted nose revisions and male rhinoplasty.
That explained why I had seen so many male patients
with results that matched exactly what I was looking for.
Now that I am one week post-op,
I have been told that there is still a significant amount of swelling, which is completely normal.
Just as explained during consultation,
Dr. Kim personally handled all of my follow-up care—
from cleaning the surgical area the day after surgery
to removing the splint and stitches himself.
The consultation manager also consistently checked in,
helping with scheduling, recovery instructions, and any concerns I had,
which made the entire process feel very organized and reassuring.
I underwent multiple procedures at the same time:
Silicone implant for the nasal bridge
Autologous rib cartilage for the nasal tip
Alar base reduction
Osteotomy
Bulbous tip correction
Because several procedures were performed—especially those affecting the frontal view—
I was informed that the swelling would take longer to fully subside.
Even at this early stage,
I can already see clear improvement.
My nostrils appear smaller,
and my previously short nose now looks longer and more defined,
bringing better balance to my overall facial proportions.
I am already quite satisfied,
and I am genuinely looking forward to seeing how the results continue to refine
as the swelling gradually decreases.
For now, I plan to keep up my daily walks
and focus on proper recovery until the one-month mark.
