After a long period of hesitation and emotional stress,
I finally underwent revision surgery for my contracted nose.
I’m writing this honest review because I know there must be others
who are still struggling with the same decision I faced.
In the past, I had rhinoplasty using a silicone implant
and invested a significant amount of money into the surgery.
However, about a year later, I began experiencing inflammation,
which eventually led to contracture.
This caused me an enormous amount of stress.
Once my nose stabilized to some extent,
I started considering revision surgery—
and this time, I researched far more thoroughly than before.
Through online forums, communities, and conversations with people I trust,
I came to realize just how overwhelming the options are.
There are countless rhinoplasty clinics in Korea,
and frankly, not all online reviews feel reliable anymore.
So I set my own clear criteria.
My three main criteria were:
The surgeon’s experience with revision rhinoplasty,
especially contracted nose cases
Whether the clinic operates in a factory-like manner
(It’s usually obvious during consultation if multiple surgeries
are being rushed through in a single day.
I wanted focused, individualized care.)
The consultation process itself
(Did the surgeon personally explain my condition and plan in detail,
or was most of it handled by a staff member?)
I visited eight different clinics for consultations.
In the end, I chose RU Plastic Surgery.
What bothered me at many other clinics was that
although the surgeon would be the one operating,
the explanation of my nose shape and surgical plan
was mostly done by a consultation manager.
That never felt right to me.
At RU Plastic Surgery, the consultation manager explained
only the basic information and overall process.
All discussions regarding my actual nose condition,
surgical approach, and expectations
were handled directly by Dr. Hyunjoo Kim.
This gave me the strongest sense of trust.
(At one clinic I visited, a surgeon even told me outright
that he didn’t feel confident operating on my nose.
That consultation left me genuinely devastated.)
During my consultation with Dr. Kim,
he carefully assessed my current nasal condition
and explained a safe and conservative approach—
focusing on lowering and reshaping the nose,
minimizing the risk of reinfection,
and setting realistic expectations for the outcome.
Now, it has been one week since surgery,
and I already feel positive about how things are progressing.
As I mentioned earlier, this clinic truly does not feel factory-like.
It’s clear that they provide personalized, one-on-one care.
Dr. Kim personally handled all of my post-operative management,
and the staff, especially the consultation managers,
were kind, organized, and highly professional.
Everything was clear and straightforward—
no pressure, no confusion,
and most importantly, my concerns and preferences were fully respected.
I’ve been following all post-op instructions carefully,
and the swelling is subsiding well.
With contracted nose revision surgery,
the most critical factor is whether the nose
can truly be lowered and structurally reconstructed.
So far, it appears that it has been done properly.
The nasal line already looks beautiful,
and I’ve been told it will continue to improve over time.
I’m genuinely looking forward to seeing how the results evolve.
