1-Month Review After Male Rhinoplasty (Autologous Rib Cartilage + Silicone) Surgery at RU Plastic Surgery

I had my first rhinoplasty at RU Plastic Surgery, and I’m writing this review now at around the 2-week mark.
I’ve always felt like my nose looked too wide and bulky, which didn’t match the look I was going for.
It was especially noticeable in photos, and I had been thinking about getting surgery for a long time.
Recently, I finally had the time and financial flexibility to do it, and while researching clinics, I came across RU.
The first thing that really stood out to me was the before & after photos.
The nose shape and line were exactly what I had in mind.
Other clinics had some results I didn’t like mixed in, but at RU, the results were very consistent and aligned with my aesthetic goals—especially those done by Director Dr. Hyunjoo Kim.
The second thing I liked was the consultation.
Dr. Kim explained everything so thoroughly and kindly, even the little medical terms.
I got to talk with the actual surgeon for a long time, which helped me feel confident and build trust.
Another plus was how often I could meet the doctor even after the surgery—when removing the packing, the splint, etc.
Since RU is a private clinic, I also felt reassured that I’d get better post-op care.
When I went back for check-ups, the staff were super kind and helpful.
The atmosphere was comfortable, and I was able to ask all the questions I had after each follow-up.
Even when I had random questions between visits, my assigned coordinator always responded quickly.
From the moment the splint was still on, I already liked the bridge and the tip.
It did look a bit high at first, but not in an obviously fake or awkward way—so I was really looking forward to seeing it without the splint.
To be honest, on the day the splint came off, I was a bit shocked.
It felt too high and unfamiliar at first.
But I could clearly see the improvement—my nose was no longer round and bulbous.
People around me said I looked different and even a bit unfamiliar.
As time went on, the swelling went down, and the look became more natural—like how I originally imagined it.
Even the area between my eyes (which looked like I had an epicanthoplasty) settled down.
Now, my nostrils aren’t pinched or unnaturally shaped—they’re nicely rounded and natural from both the front and side views.
Just a little while ago, I was hoping for the swelling to go down more…
But now, I actually hope it stays like this.
It feels like everything went well, and I’m genuinely happy with the results.
I know I still need to take care of it long-term, but honestly, the satisfaction is worth it.
