I’ve always been bothered by my wide and low nasal bridge,
and the shape of my bulbous nasal tip stressed me out the most.
While researching surgery options to match my final military leave,
I came across a male YouTuber’s rhinoplasty vlog.
His results looked great, so I asked around and found out
that the surgery was done by Dr. Kim Hyun-joo at RU Plastic Surgery.
That’s how I ended up booking a consultation.
It was my first time visiting a plastic surgery clinic,
so I was a bit nervous at first.
However, the staff were very kind and welcoming,
which helped me relax right away.
The consultation manager explained the overall process calmly and clearly,
without being pushy at all, which made me feel comfortable.
My cousin had told me that in many clinics,
the consultation manager does most of the talking
and the doctor’s consultation tends to be very brief.
But at RU Plastic Surgery, it was the opposite.
Dr. Kim explained everything in much more detail than the consultation manager,
and since I knew nothing about plastic surgery,
I had a lot of questions.
He patiently answered every single one of them.
He even explained in advance what I should do
to manage swelling and bruising after surgery.
The clinic provided all the necessary supplies for swelling care,
bruise management, disinfection, and nasal tip taping,
so I didn’t have to buy anything separately.
I received one bottle of pumpkin juice from the clinic,
and later bought more after seeing many people recommend it online.
I’m not sure how much it helped,
but I drank about one packet a day anyway.
Because I have thick skin and a very wide nose,
Dr. Kim clearly explained the realistic limits of what could be achieved,
so I didn’t go into surgery expecting miracles.
He explained that the plan was to correct the bulbous tip
and reduce some of the soft tissue.
Even now, it already feels higher
and my skin looks slightly thinner than before.
It’s only been two weeks so far,
and during follow-ups, he explained that the nose
will continue to become slimmer and more natural over time.
Every time I visit the clinic,
Dr. Kim personally disinfects the surgical area
and even removes the stitches himself,
which honestly surprised me.
I’ve seen many rhinoplasty vlogs where nurses handle those steps,
but here, the doctor does everything directly,
with the nurses assisting.
The nurses are also extremely kind,
so every visit feels comfortable and reassuring.
I’m not planning on revision surgery,
but if I ever needed anything related to my nose again,
this is definitely the clinic I would return to.
