I’ve been self-conscious about my prominent cheekbones
and wide lower jaw since I was young.
Not only in selfies, but especially when photos are taken
with the back camera, my face always looked much bigger, you know… ㅠㅠ
Because of that, I was determined to undergo
cheekbone reduction and square jaw surgery.
When I visited the clinic, they explained that my chin was relatively small
compared to my cheekbones and jawline.
They took CT scans, and Dr. Kim carefully explained
my bone thickness, left–right asymmetry, and overall facial structure
while drawing diagrams, which made everything very easy to understand.
They also told me that there was enough clearance around the nerve lines,
so it would be possible to slim my face down as much as I wanted.
However, since a significant amount of bone would be removed,
Dr. Kim honestly explained that proper post-operative care
such as lifting or skin elasticity treatments would be important afterward.
I truly appreciated that honest explanation.
He said they would do their best to minimize sagging,
but also clearly explained that no surgery can guarantee zero sagging.
That realistic and sincere explanation actually made me trust him
more than other doctors.
At my 2-week follow-up,
Dr. Kim carefully examined every part of my face.
He explained that the softer areas were swelling,
while the firmer areas were due to the bio-bond,
which would gradually dissolve over time.
He also reassured me that if the bio-bond remained for too long,
he would help manage it with injection treatments if needed.
Even now, my face already looks noticeably smaller in photos
compared to before, and that alone makes me so happy.
I was told that the full results of facial contouring
become more apparent around six months,
so I’m really looking forward to seeing my face slim down even more.
