It has been one month since I underwent revision rhinoplasty
to correct nasal tip ptosis after mesh removal
with Dr. Hyunjoo Kim at RU Plastic Surgery.
To give some background, about three to four years ago,
I had my first rhinoplasty at a local clinic.
At that time, septal cartilage and ear cartilage were used for the nasal tip,
mesh was placed for support,
and silicone was used for the nasal dorsum.
Over time, however, I began to notice that my nasal tip would droop whenever I smiled.
The tip ptosis gradually became more noticeable
and eventually started to bother me quite a lot.
I knew that revision surgery would be necessary at some point,
but I wasn’t actively searching or rushing into multiple consultations.
Then, a friend told me about a doctor who specializes in nasal surgery
and is particularly skilled at correcting nasal tip ptosis.
That introduction led me to Dr. Hyunjoo Kim.
What stood out to me immediately was that he prefers using autologous cartilage for the nasal tip,
which made me feel this could be the right solution for my case.
As expected, the incision from the autologous cartilage harvest is very small,
and it has been healing well and gradually fading over time.
I’m simply waiting for it to become even lighter.
Most importantly, the result itself has been extremely satisfying.
Now, when I smile, my nasal tip stays exactly where it should.
The sharp and defined tip maintains its shape without drooping.
I even filmed myself laughing and smiling from every angle—
front view, side view, and angled views—
and I couldn’t find a single moment where the nasal tip dropped again.
I’m genuinely very happy with the outcome
and relieved that this long-standing concern has finally been resolved.
