Two-Week Review After Rhinoplasty Following HIKO Thread Removal
본문

I initially pursued non-surgical options for nasal augmentation because I was self-conscious about my low nasal bridge and slightly protrusive mouth.
Social media often highlighted dramatic improvements with thread-based procedures, so I decided to try HIKO threads first, assuming it would be an easy fix.
However, I was surprised by the discomfort and visible needle entry scars. At first, the result seemed promising—the height looked improved—but within days,
it gradually diminished, returning almost completely to my original nose shape. That disappointment motivated me to opt for proper surgical rhinoplasty instead.
After extensively watching videos of various plastic surgeons on YouTube, I came across Dr. Hyunjoo Kim’s before-and-after cases at RU Plastic Surgery.
I was immediately drawn to the natural and elegant nasal lines in the results, which led me to proceed with surgery there.
Now at two weeks post-op, I still have some faint bruising, but recovery is going smoothly.
The rib cartilage harvest site only causes discomfort when I exert myself (e.g., coughing, heavy movement), but otherwise,
it’s manageable. Most importantly, I’m thrilled with the dramatic improvement in my nasal contour—so much so that the minor discomfort feels completely worth it.
