Revision Rhinoplasty 2-Week Review
본문

I had rhinoplasty about 13 or 14 years ago after accompanying my mother to a clinic.
At that time, an open rhinoplasty was performed using an L-shaped silicone implant,
and the nasal tip was left untouched because it was considered acceptable.
Over the years, however, I began to notice that the silicone implant was becoming visible through the skin near the nasal tip,
and it felt excessive and unnatural.
I grew increasingly concerned about potential complications
and eventually became certain that the implant needed to be removed.
After reading numerous reviews, I selected several clinics for consultations.
A CT scan revealed that the silicone implant had extended all the way down to the nasal tip,
making surgical removal unavoidable.
During my first consultation at RU Plastic Surgery,
I immediately felt I could trust Dr. Hyun Joo Kim.
Initially, I was only considering implant removal,
but Dr. Kim advised that reconstructing the compressed nasal tissues
would be important for achieving a stable and natural result.
Because I had never used ear cartilage before,
the surgical plan involved using septal cartilage and ear cartilage for the nasal tip,
and covering the nasal bridge with temporalis fascia.
Dr. Kim is well known for his expertise in autologous rib cartilage surgery,
and although I was open to using rib cartilage if necessary,
he honestly explained that it would not be required in my case.
There was absolutely no pressure to undergo unnecessary procedures,
which greatly strengthened my trust.
After surgery, as the swelling and bruising gradually subsided,
the blunt appearance caused by the descending implant improved significantly,
and the excessive prominence between my eyebrows also softened.
I have been receiving swelling-reduction injections and laser treatments at the clinic,
which have been very effective in controlling postoperative swelling,
particularly around the nose.
The staff have always been kind, attentive, and supportive.
Now, at two weeks post-operation,
the swelling has improved considerably.
The area behind my ear is still slightly sore and not fully healed,
but overall, there are no major issues.
I am being careful not to touch the area
and hope for a smooth and complete recovery.
