One Year After Revision Rhinoplasty for Drooping Tip and Medpor Removal
본문

After
It has now been over a year since I underwent revision rhinoplasty to correct a drooping nasal tip, and I’m very satisfied with the results.
Prior to surgery, the tip of my nose would droop noticeably when I smiled, giving the appearance of a slight hump and an overall downward-pointing projection. Now, even when I smile, the tip maintains its structure and position firmly. Since autologous rib cartilage was used, I can clearly see the benefit of long-term support—it’s holding up very well without any signs of sagging.
I still notice a slight sense of tightness or pulling in the upper philtrum area, but I actually think it contributes positively to my profile. It gives the nose a lifted, well-supported appearance that enhances the side view.
During the surgery, Dr. Hyunjoo Kim also discovered and carefully removed a Medpor implant that had been placed in a previous procedure. Knowing that a material like that—which differs significantly from silicone—had been inside my nose without my knowledge was unsettling. I’m truly relieved it’s no longer there. Had I not gone through with the revision, I would’ve continued to carry that foreign material unknowingly, which now feels unthinkable.
At this point, more than a year post-op, any residual swelling is virtually nonexistent. The nose feels completely settled, both in shape and in sensation. I often get compliments from those around me about how natural and well-balanced my nose looks. Some even ask where I had the procedure done, which often leads to conversations about plastic surgery. I’m always happy to share my experience and mention that it was done with rib cartilage at RU Plastic Surgery.
There’s a part of me that wants to keep this place a secret—but good results deserve to be known.
