One Month After Autologous Rib Rhinoplasty (Osteotomy, Bulbous Tip & Columella Correction)
본문

After
After a long period of hesitation and deliberation, I finally decided to undergo rhinoplasty. I had been attending consultations for about a year, but none of the clinics I visited fully aligned with what I was looking for. My main concerns were a significantly bulbous nasal tip and a retracted columella. Given these issues, many surgeons had already recommended autologous or donated rib cartilage as the most suitable material. I leaned toward autologous rib, thinking that if I was going to do this, I wanted something strong, reliable, and long-lasting.
As I narrowed down my search to clinics with extensive experience in rib cartilage rhinoplasty, RU Plastic Surgery stood out. During the consultation, Dr. Hyunjoo Kim thoroughly understood my concerns and aesthetic goals. What reassured me even more was the number of before-and-after cases that were very similar to mine—especially involving osteotomy and bulbous nose correction—which gave me a realistic sense of what to expect.
Another big advantage of RU has been the consistent postoperative care. I’ve been able to meet directly with Dr. Kim at each follow-up appointment, which allowed me to ask any questions that came up during recovery and get direct answers from the operating surgeon—something I really appreciated.
Now at the one-month mark, I’ve been told that the remaining swelling, particularly in the front view, will continue to subside and the nose will become slimmer and more refined in the coming weeks. That makes me even more excited for the final outcome.
Even now, my friends are amazed at the transformation and keep complimenting the results. When I compare photos from before the surgery to now, it’s honestly hard to believe it’s the same nose. It still feels surreal.
I’m truly glad I chose to have the surgery with Dr. Hyunjoo Kim at RU Plastic Surgery—it feels like one of the best decisions I’ve made.
