One-Month Postoperative Review: Male Revision Rhinoplasty with Functional Nasal Surgery (Autologous Rib Cartilage + Silicone Implant)
본문

After
I underwent my first rhinoplasty 10 years ago, but the result felt too feminine, with a curved shape resembling a "half-busan" (traditional Korean shoe), which made me desire a straighter, more masculine nasal profile. While researching revision rhinoplasty options, I came across numerous positive reviews from RU Plastic Surgery showcasing results that closely matched the straight, masculine nose I wanted.
My concerns were a thin, pointed nasal tip and the curved “half-busan” shape. Dr. Kim Hyun-joo assured me that the changes I wanted were achievable, so I proceeded with revision surgery using a combination of autologous rib cartilage and silicone implants.
The postoperative pain was more significant at the rib cartilage donor site than the nose itself, which was quite challenging. However, the nasal tip now appears more natural following the correction of the pinched tip deformity, and the nasolabial angle (the area between the upper lip and nose) shows a noticeable improvement from before. The nasal profile strikes a balance between straight and slightly curved, which I find very appealing. Additionally, the previously elongated nose appearance has been corrected.
At one month post-surgery, there is some redness around the nasal tip and incision site, which the clinic assured me is a normal part of the healing process. I am now patiently awaiting further recovery.
