Male Rhinoplasty Review (2 Weeks Post-Op)

I decided to get rhinoplasty because I wanted a higher nasal bridge and tip,
as well as a more projected midface. I had heard that rhinoplasty could
effectively achieve that, so I began consulting at various clinics.
I visited several well-known large hospitals and smaller private clinics,
but I personally preferred the atmosphere of private clinics.
Big hospitals gave me the impression that post-operative care
might be less personal and thorough.
I ultimately chose RU Plastic Surgery because the before-and-after photos
of male rhinoplasty cases matched the aesthetic I wanted.
During the consultation with Dr. Hyun Joo Kim,
I showed reference photos of my desired nose shape and overall design,
and he said those features would suit my face well.
His consultation was extremely detailed and professional.
Unlike other places where most of the conversation was handled by
a consultant and the doctor only briefly checked in,
at RU, about half of the consultation time was directly with Dr. Kim herself.
There was a small consultation fee (₩30,000),
but it was included in the surgery cost if you proceeded with booking.
Since I had previously undergone septoplasty for nasal congestion,
this was technically a revision rhinoplasty.
We used autologous rib cartilage (costal cartilage) and silicone implant,
and also performed nasolabial angle correction.
By the end of the first week, after removing the splint,
I was pleasantly surprised by the lack of bruising and swelling.
Now, at the two-week mark, I can clearly see the swelling has gone down even more,
and the nasal bridge looks sharper—exactly the shape I had envisioned.
I’m very satisfied with the results.
For men considering this surgery, be aware that
the donor site (where the rib cartilage is harvested)
can be more painful than expected.
Personally, I did experience noticeable discomfort for about five days,
so I recommend planning enough rest time after surgery.
