Due to my profession and hobbies,
I am frequently photographed.
From a young age, I felt self-conscious about
a low nasal bridge and a bulbous nasal tip,
which made my frontal and side profiles appear heavy and blunt.
I decided to undergo autologous rib cartilage rhinoplasty
to achieve a nasal line that would suit my face
while remaining natural yet refined.
I became interested after watching a rhinoplasty vlog
by a male YouTuber I follow,
whose transformation was quite dramatic.
Through his information, I learned about
Dr. Hyunjoo Kim and scheduled a consultation at RU Plastic Surgery.
During the consultation,
Dr. Kim carefully analyzed my facial photographs
and clearly identified my concerns,
including the bulbous tip, low bridge, and short nose.
Based on this assessment,
we planned a customized approach using
custom silicone for the nasal bridge,
autologous rib cartilage for the nasal tip,
along with nasolabial angle adjustment
and correction of bulbous appearance and asymmetry.
On the day of surgery,
mouth breathing was uncomfortable,
and there was pain at the rib harvest site until about day three.
From day four, I was able to resume normal daily activities.
With diligent swelling management,
by two weeks postoperatively,
facial swelling and the columellar incision scar had nearly resolved,
and only mild swelling at the nasal tip remains.
The nose continues to slim down day by day.
Thanks to the elevated bridge, refined tip,
and nasolabial angle correction,
my side profile has improved significantly,
and photographs now turn out much better.
People around me frequently comment on how much improved it looks,
and I find myself recommending the clinic often.
I am sincerely grateful to Dr. Hyunjoo Kim
and the consultation manager at RU Plastic Surgery.
