Two-Month Review After Male Bulbous Nose Surgery
본문

Hello, this is my two-month postoperative review.
Before surgery, I had a drooping nasal tip and a prominent bulbous nose,
and I had always thought about undergoing rhinoplasty at some point.
Last December, I finally had the opportunity to proceed with surgery.
Since this was my first cosmetic procedure,
I consulted at three different clinics.
At the first clinic, I was told that my nasal skin was thick
and that alar reduction would be mandatory,
along with additional procedures such as paranasal augmentation.
That consultation made me feel that rhinoplasty
might not be a single, focused procedure.
Later, I consulted with Dr. Hyunjoo Kim at RU Plastic Surgery.
After examining my nose directly,
he explained that my nasal tip skin was actually on the thinner side
and that alar reduction would likely not be necessary.
That honest and individualized assessment gave me immediate confidence.
When the third clinic offered a similar opinion to the first
based only on visual assessment,
I decided that same day to proceed with surgery at RU Plastic Surgery.
My surgical plan included autologous rib cartilage for structural support,
columellar lowering, bulbous nose correction, osteotomy,
minimal silicone augmentation of approximately 1 mm for the bridge,
and correction of severe septal deviation.
Before the nasal packing was removed, the discomfort was significant.
However, after removal, there was virtually no nasal pain,
and aside from mild discomfort at the rib harvest site,
I was able to resume daily activities without major difficulty.
At two months postoperatively,
the drooping nasal tip has been fully corrected,
and the previously dull impression of my face has become more defined.
Unless I mention the surgery myself,
most people simply comment that I look slimmer
or that my eyes appear sharper.
The most satisfying aspect is that the result looks natural
without any artificial or exaggerated appearance.
