My nose had become short and somewhat deformed,
almost like a contracted nose, and the upturned appearance bothered me.
Because of this, I started researching revision rhinoplasty again.
After consulting with Dr. Hyunjoo Kim at RU Plastic Surgery,
I felt that his aesthetic sense aligned well with mine,
which ultimately led me to proceed with revision surgery.
For this revision, autologous rib cartilage and silicone were used.
The procedure included short nose correction, columellar lowering,
nasolabial angle adjustment, and alar reduction.
It has now been over three months since the surgery.
The columella scar is barely noticeable,
and interestingly, although people often say
that alar reduction scars can be visible,
mine are almost impossible to see.
Dr. Kim mentioned that he uses a technique
that helps minimize visible scarring for alar reduction,
and when I compare it with friends who had similar procedures,
the difference in scarring is very noticeable.
At this point, the nose looks so natural
that people cannot even tell I had revision surgery.
It has settled nicely into my face,
with the refined straight-line nasal profile I specifically requested.
For anyone considering revision rhinoplasty
or dealing with dissatisfaction from a previous surgery,
I would definitely recommend looking into RU Plastic Surgery.
