After two revision surgeries,
my nasal tip slowly started lifting again,
and the shape still wasn’t what I wanted.
So this time, I searched for clinics
with the mindset that this had to be
my final surgery.
I wondered whether I should have it done
in Busan or go all the way to Seoul.
After a lot of research and consideration,
I found RU Plastic Surgery.
I actually consulted about twenty clinics,
but among them, Dr. Hyunjoo Kim stood out.
He explained everything carefully
and had a calm and trustworthy personality,
which ultimately led me to choose RU Plastic Surgery.
At first, I didn’t want to use rib cartilage
because I was worried about having
a scar on my body.
But after hearing the detailed explanation
about the pros and cons of donor rib cartilage
and autologous rib cartilage,
I decided to proceed with
autologous rib cartilage after all.
Still, I was worried because
my nose is naturally very small,
and visible nostrils were a big concern for me.
During consultation, I emphasized
how stressful the nostril exposure was.
So the plan was to lower the bridge slightly
from my current height,
extend the columella,
and correct the nasolabial angle.
Until the surgery day,
I actually felt pretty calm
and just wanted to get it over with.
But when the day finally came,
I suddenly felt very nervous.
After a brief design consultation,
I went into the operating room,
greeted the anesthesiologist,
and the next thing I knew,
I woke up in the recovery room.
After waking up, I listened
to the post-operative instructions
and left the clinic.
At first, there was almost no pain,
so I thought the recovery
would be easier than expected.
But that night, the pain made it
a little difficult to sleep.
Still, it was manageable.
The next day, once the nasal packing
was removed, I felt so much better.
When Dr. Kim told me
the surgery went well,
I felt much more relieved.
The splint for the first week
was a bit uncomfortable,
but it was still tolerable.
After one week, the splint was removed,
and two weeks later everything
inside my nose was taken out.
That moment felt incredibly relieving.
The shape also turned out
exactly the way I wanted,
and I liked how the nasal tip
was gradually settling down.
Whenever I visit the clinic,
both the head consultation manager
and Dr. Hyunjoo Kim always answer
all my questions kindly.
That also made me feel very reassured.
My nose still feels a bit firm for now,
but I know it will gradually soften
and improve with time.
