Revision Short Nose Surgery with Total Autologous Rib Cartilage
본문

After my first rhinoplasty,
I experienced repeated inflammation and eventually underwent revision surgery
and removal of the nasal bridge implant.
However, the discomfort returned,
and I never felt like the problem had fully resolved,
which led me to decide on another revision procedure.
I first learned about RU Plastic Surgery
through a plastic surgery app event page.
Although I hesitated because of the cost,
I felt that the nose designs were much more natural
than those from other clinics.
Many clinics only recommended
dermal grafts for the bridge
or using a solid rib cartilage graft,
but Dr. Hyun Joo Kim suggested
a sliced rib cartilage technique,
which seemed like a safer option to me.
That recommendation ultimately influenced my decision.
During surgery,
the ear cartilage and septal cartilage remaining in my nose were removed.
The reconstruction included
autologous rib cartilage for both the bridge and tip,
short nose correction,
columella lowering,
and reinforcement with rectus fascia.
It has now been a little over one month since surgery,
and even when running or being active,
I feel no pain at the rib donor site at all.
Every time I visit RU Plastic Surgery for follow-up care,
the team takes great care of me,
and I feel that this has helped my recovery significantly.
Most of the residual swelling seems to have improved already,
even though it has only been about a month.
The shape of my nose also suits my facial structure very well.
It is neither overly dramatic nor too subtle,
but instead has a balanced height and shape
that feels just right for my face.
Overall, I am extremely satisfied with the result.
