Primary Rhinoplasty with Sliced Rib Cartilage – 9 Months Post-Op
본문

It has already been over nine months
since my primary rhinoplasty
with Dr. Hyun Joo Kim at RU Plastic Surgery.
For my nasal bridge,
sliced autologous rib cartilage was used.
I also had autologous rib cartilage for the nasal tip,
along with nasolabial angle adjustment
and bulbous tip correction.
As time has passed,
my nose has continued to settle
and look more natural.
I was initially worried that an implant-free rhinoplasty
might lose height or become wider over time,
but the shape and height have remained stable,
so I’m very satisfied.
My columella scar was barely noticeable from the beginning,
and the rib cartilage donor-site scar
has faded significantly since the six-month mark.
I expect it to become even less noticeable with time.
The biggest improvement for me
has definitely been my side profile.
Before surgery,
my mouth looked slightly protruded
and my midface appeared somewhat recessed.
After the nasolabial angle adjustment,
the appearance of my protruding mouth
has improved significantly.
From the front,
my bulbous nasal tip also looks much more refined,
so I’m much happier when wearing makeup
or taking photos.
As time passes,
my nose continues to blend more naturally with my face.
Now I understand why people say
it can take six months to a year
to fully appreciate the result of rhinoplasty.
I haven’t experienced any particular problems,
and I’ve been doing so well
that I sometimes even postpone my follow-up appointments.
So far,
I’m extremely satisfied with my result.
