Six Months After My First Rhinoplasty with Autologous Costal Cartilage
본문

It has already been six months since my first rhinoplasty using autologous costal cartilage.
Even at the three-month mark, I thought a lot of the swelling had already subsided.
But now that I am six months post-op, I feel like almost all of the swelling is gone, and my face finally looks and feels much more like myself again.
The unfamiliar feeling I had during the earlier stages of recovery has decreased significantly, which I am very happy about.
At first, I was quite concerned about the incision scar underneath my nose because it was fairly noticeable during the early recovery period.
Now, however, it has faded so much that it is barely noticeable.
Even though autologous costal cartilage was used, my nose now has some natural side-to-side movement,
so the stiffness and discomfort have also improved considerably.
The result now reminds me of the type of before-and-after results I originally saw on RU Plastic Surgery’s YouTube channel.
In the beginning, I actually wondered whether my nose looked a little too dramatic rather than naturally refined.
As the swelling has continued to settle, however, it has become exactly the kind of refined yet natural-looking result I was hoping for.
There can sometimes be a bit of a wait when I visit the clinic for follow-up appointments,
but I understand why because Dr. Hyun Joo Kim is very thorough with each consultation.
He carefully checks even subtle changes in my nose, asks whether I have any questions or concerns,
and explains what to expect during the next stages of recovery.
I always feel more reassured after my follow-up appointments, and now at six months post-op, I am very satisfied with how naturally my nose has settled.
