Nine Months After Male Rhinoplasty
본문

Before / 9m post-op
It has now been nine months since I underwent male rhinoplasty with Dr. Hyunju Kim at RU Plastic Surgery. It is hard to believe how quickly the time has passed.
Before surgery, I had always felt that my nose was relatively small in proportion to my face,
so rhinoplasty had been something I had considered for quite some time. After completing my military service,
I decided to look into surgery during a period when I had enough time available for recovery.
One of my acquaintances had previously undergone rhinoplasty at RU Plastic Surgery,
and I was very impressed with the result. That experience encouraged me to schedule a consultation for myself.
After meeting with the surgeon and discussing the surgical plan, I felt comfortable with the overall approach and decided to proceed with the surgery.
The main change I wanted was to increase the overall size and presence of my nose while still maintaining a natural appearance.
In particular, I wanted the nasal bridge and tip to have better definition and projection without looking overly artificial or out of proportion with the rest of my facial features.
I did not experience any major difficulties during the recovery period.
The most uncomfortable part was having nasal packing in place immediately after surgery because it made breathing through my nose difficult.
Once the packing was removed, however, the recovery became much easier.
When the nasal splint was first removed, my nose still appeared quite swollen, so I would recommend not judging the final result too early.
In my experience, I noticed the most significant reduction in swelling between approximately two weeks and one month after surgery,
and the shape continued to settle naturally over time.
Since this was my first rhinoplasty, I initially felt somewhat hesitant about using autologous rib cartilage.
However, now that I can see the result nine months after surgery, I actually feel that choosing autologous rib cartilage was the right decision for me.
The materials used for my surgery were autologous rib cartilage and silicone.
My surgical plan included osteotomy, nasolabial angle correction, and short nose correction.
