One-Month Review After Male Revision Rhinoplasty Using DCF
본문

Eight years ago, I underwent nasal tip surgery using septal cartilage along with alar reduction to improve the bulbous appearance of my nose.
However, I did not notice a significant change after the procedure, which left me somewhat dissatisfied with the result.
Over time, I continued to be concerned about the bulbous nasal tip, deviation of the tip, and an uneven contour along the nasal bridge.
These concerns ultimately led me to consider revision rhinoplasty.
Because I was hesitant about using a conventional implant, I specifically looked for a clinic that could perform nasal bridge augmentation using autologous rib cartilage.
During my research, I learned about RU Plastic Surgery and its Innofit 3D-customized DCF technique.
For this revision rhinoplasty, autologous rib cartilage was used for the nasal tip, while DCF was used for the nasal bridge.
The surgical plan also included nasolabial angle adjustment and correction of the bulbous nasal tip.
I am now one month postoperatively and am very satisfied with the result so far.
The bulbous appearance has improved considerably, while the T-zone has gained greater definition and three-dimensional contour.
At the same time, the overall nasal line has settled into a natural and masculine shape that complements my facial features well.
I also appreciated that Dr. Hyunju Kim continued to personally monitor my recovery during my one-month follow-up.
Most of the major swelling has now subsided, and the scars around the columella and rib cartilage donor site have faded significantly.
I was advised that I can now continue scar care primarily with topical ointment.
I was also told that this is a stage of recovery when scar tissue can begin to develop, but fortunately,
I have formed relatively little scar tissue so far, which was reassuring to hear.
At this point, there has been no noticeable resorption, and the overall shape has remained stable as the swelling has gradually decreased.
I understand that the degree of resorption will need to be monitored over time,
but based on my recovery and appearance so far, I am very satisfied with the outcome.
