Ten Days After Revision Rhinoplasty with RU 3D Customized DCF
본문

Before / 2w post-op
I decided to undergo revision rhinoplasty at RU Plastic Surgery about a year after my initial consultation.
Throughout the entire surgical process, I was genuinely touched by how attentive and considerate everyone was.
I had spent nearly 10 years thinking about revision surgery and had visited other clinics as well,
but I had never experienced this level of care before.
I feel that the kindness and professionalism of Dr. Hyunju Kim and the staff are what create the overall atmosphere at RU Plastic Surgery.
Their approach felt honest and reassuring enough that I would feel comfortable recommending the clinic even to a family member.
From the front, my nose did not appear to have a major problem.
However, due to an injury when I was younger, the right side of my nose had slightly collapsed.
I tried to capture the asymmetry as clearly as possible in photographs, but in person,
it was subtle enough that most people did not notice it unless I pointed it out.
Because of this, many people around me actually discouraged me from undergoing another surgery.
After a great deal of consideration, I decided to at least seek professional consultations.
What surprised me at RU Plastic Surgery was that, even before I fully explained what bothered me, Dr. Kim recognized the issue.
He explained that the asymmetry might not appear very significant to the naked eye,
but that differences in lighting, camera angles, and photographs could make it much more noticeable and therefore more stressful for me.
That was exactly what had been bothering me, so I was genuinely surprised that he understood my concern so quickly.
During the years I spent researching revision rhinoplasty, I had already heard that Dr. Kim had extensive experience with complex reconstructive cases.
However, experiencing firsthand how accurately he identified the subtle issue that concerned me gave me even greater confidence in proceeding with surgery.
As part of the surgical plan, the previously placed fixation material from my old nasal fracture was removed.
I then underwent an implant-free revision using the Innofit 3D customized DCF approach with autologous rib cartilage.
Because I had spent so many years considering surgery,
I was also reassured to learn that the surgical approach incorporated techniques intended to reduce the risk of rib cartilage warping.
Another thing that surprised me was how little swelling and bruising I experienced after surgery.
It has now been about 10 days since the procedure.
Even the friends who had initially tried to talk me out of having revision surgery are now asking where I had my nose done.
I also feel that my midface appears somewhat shorter and more balanced than before.
For the nasal line, I requested something between a completely straight profile and a softly curved profile,
with a slightly more neutral and understated overall appearance.
Now that the shape of my nose feels more balanced with my face,
I have found myself enjoying things like makeup and taking care of my appearance even more.
At this early stage of recovery, I am already very pleased with the overall direction of the result
and am looking forward to seeing how the nose continues to settle as the remaining swelling gradually subsides.
