Two Weeks After Bulbous Nose Correction Using Autologous Rib Cartilage
본문

Before / 2w post-op
I had always felt that my nose looked relatively low and wide, so I had been seriously considering rhinoplasty for quite some time.
While researching through blogs and cosmetic surgery apps, I came across Dr. Hyunju Kim at RU Plastic Surgery. As I continued looking into the clinic,
I found many positive patient reviews and learned that Dr. Kim frequently uses autologous rib cartilage in rhinoplasty.
I was also drawn to this approach because I personally felt more comfortable using my own tissue.
Most importantly, Dr. Kim’s aesthetic style closely matched what I was looking for. After my consultation,
I felt confident that RU Plastic Surgery was the right choice for me.
For my surgery, autologous rib cartilage was used to augment the nasal bridge and increase tip projection, along with correction of the bulbous nasal tip.
One of the moments that made me feel especially confident about choosing this clinic was when Dr. Kim explained
that the wide appearance of my nose could be improved without necessarily performing alar reduction.
At other clinics, I had been advised to undergo alar reduction,
but Dr. Kim explained that it was not essential in my case and that the shape I wanted could still be achieved without narrowing the alar base.
I appreciated that he did not recommend an additional procedure unless he felt it was necessary.
I am very satisfied with the result so far.
The nose looks natural and harmonious with my face while still having enough definition and refinement to give me the more noticeable change I wanted.
During the recovery period, I experienced some inconvenience and discomfort, but I did not personally experience significant pain.
The removal of the sutures and nasal splint was also much more comfortable than I had expected.
Since the nose now has greater height and definition,
I also feel that the overall proportions of my face appear more balanced, including areas of my facial shape that I had previously been self-conscious about.
At two weeks postoperatively, I am very pleased with how my nose looks from both the front and the side.
Although I am still in the early stages of recovery,
I am already very happy with the overall shape and look forward to seeing it become even more refined as the remaining swelling gradually subsides.
