Three-Month Review After Male Revision Rhinoplasty in My 40s
본문

Before / 3M post-op
I spent a very long time considering whether to undergo revision rhinoplasty
in my 40s before finally deciding to proceed with surgery at RU Plastic Surgery.
To start with the conclusion, I am extremely satisfied with the result so far.
Because of my age, I had many doubts about whether another rhinoplasty was really necessary.
However, after consulting with coordinator Heesun Jung and Dr. Hyunju Kim, my perspective changed completely.
Dr. Kim examined the condition of my nose very carefully. Rather than simply trying to create exactly what I requested,
he explained realistically what could be achieved surgically and which direction would be most suitable for my facial features.
I especially appreciated that there was no sense of being encouraged to undergo unnecessary procedures.
Instead, the consultation focused heavily on creating a balanced result while considering surgical safety, which gave me a strong sense of trust.
On the day of surgery, the staff continued to take good care of me, and the overall atmosphere at the clinic was calm and reassuring.
This made the entire process feel much more comfortable than I had expected.
After surgery, I was honestly surprised by how little facial swelling I initially experienced.
The discomfort at the autologous rib cartilage donor site was also much more manageable than I had anticipated.
After the nasal splint was removed, however, there was still a noticeable amount of swelling around the nose, which made me somewhat concerned at first.
Fortunately, as the swelling gradually subsided, the nasal contour became increasingly natural and well defined.
My surgical plan included autologous rib cartilage for the nasal tip,
a customized silicone implant for the nasal bridge, correction of the bulbous nasal tip, and lowering of the columella.
The changes I am most satisfied with are the improvement in the previously broad
and blunt appearance from the frontal view,
the smoother and straighter profile from the side, and the overall masculine yet refined impression.
Most importantly, the result does not look artificial or excessively operated.
People around me have also commented that my appearance has become noticeably more refined while still looking very natural.
That has been one of the most satisfying aspects of the entire experience.
My goal was never to create an overly dramatic nose.
I simply wanted a natural improvement that would make my features look more defined and masculine, and I feel that the result reflects exactly that.
Another aspect I have particularly appreciated is the postoperative care.
Dr. Kim, my designated coordinator, and the entire staff have been consistently kind and attentive.
The follow-up care has also been very thorough, with the healing process, changes in swelling, and overall condition of my nose carefully monitored over time.
Having regular follow-up evaluations has made me feel much more reassured throughout the recovery period.
Now that I am approximately three months postoperatively,
my nose continues to look more natural as the remaining swelling gradually subsides.
I also find myself becoming more satisfied every time I take photos.
Overall, I would describe the result as natural but still noticeably refined.
It has a masculine quality without looking excessive or artificial, which is exactly what I had hoped for.
If I had to make the same decision again, I would still choose to undergo my revision rhinoplasty at RU Plastic Surgery.
Looking back, I am so satisfied with the result that I almost wish I had not spent so many years hesitating over the decision.
