Rhinoplasty for a Dorsal Hump Using Autologous Rib Cartilage

I had a prominent dorsal hump as well as a bulbous nose,
and I was always self-conscious about how wide and spread out my nose appeared in photographs.
From the side, my nose also looked somewhat compressed, which made my midface appear longer.
These concerns eventually led me to decide on rhinoplasty.
While researching through an online plastic surgery community,

During the consultation, Dr. Hyunju Kim used a presentation to explain the surgical approach in detail, including the ideal angles and proportions of the nose.

After the consultation, I felt comfortable proceeding with surgery at RU Plastic Surgery.
Because I had previously undergone surgery for a deviated nasal septum,
my procedure was approached as a revision rhinoplasty, and autologous rib cartilage was used.
The postoperative discomfort improved significantly by around the third or fourth day.
At approximately one week after surgery, the nasal packing and splint were removed,
and after that, I noticed that the swelling began to subside relatively quickly.
When I looked in the mirror, I was very pleased to see that the dorsal hump and bulbous appearance,
which had been two of my biggest concerns before surgery, had been noticeably improved.
I had also placed particular emphasis on the shape of the columella during the consultation,
and I am very satisfied with how smoothly rounded and naturally defined that area now appears.
As part of the postoperative care, I also received laser treatment and injections to help manage swelling.
Overall, I have been very satisfied with both the surgical result and the postoperative care provided at RU Plastic Surgery.
