Nine-Month Review After Revision Rhinoplasty to Improve a Protrusive Profile
본문

Before / 9M post-op
For my first rhinoplasty, I underwent an implant-free procedure that focused only on the nasal tip.
At the time, I was told that increasing the projection of the nasal tip could help make my mouth appear less prominent from the side, so I had high expectations for the result.
However, after surgery, the change was not quite as significant as I had hoped. The shape of the nasal tip itself was not bad, but as time passed, it gradually seemed to become smaller and lower.
Eventually, I realized that some of the height I had initially liked during the early recovery period had been related to postoperative swelling. Because of this, I had been thinking for some time that I would eventually undergo revision rhinoplasty.
Last year, I finally had my revision surgery at RU Plastic Surgery, and it has now been nine months since the procedure.
For this revision, autologous rib cartilage was used for the nasal tip, silicone was used for the nasal bridge, and nasolabial angle correction was also performed.
Rather than wanting an excessively sharp or dramatic nose, my goal was to achieve a naturally elevated and refined shape that would still suit my overall facial features.
At nine months postoperatively, I feel that the nose has settled very naturally.
During the earlier stages of recovery, the overall contour looked somewhat fuller because of swelling. As time passed, however, the residual swelling gradually subsided and the definition of the nasal tip became much cleaner and more refined.
One of my concerns was whether the nasal tip would eventually become lower again as it had after my previous surgery. So far, however, the tip height has remained stable, which has been very reassuring and has contributed greatly to my satisfaction with the result.
The aspect I am personally most satisfied with is the nasolabial angle correction.
Before surgery, when I took side-profile photos, I often felt that my mouth appeared relatively more prominent. Now, the relationship between my nose and mouth feels much more balanced, giving my overall profile a more refined appearance.
From the frontal view, I also feel that the center of my face looks more defined, while the side profile has gained greater depth and three-dimensional balance.
These changes have made me much more comfortable and satisfied when taking photos.
Another aspect I have appreciated more as time has passed is how naturally the nose has blended with the rest of my face.
People around me often comment that I look more refined or attractive, but I rarely hear that my nose looks obviously operated. Instead, I am often told that the result looks as though it has always been part of my natural features, which is exactly the kind of outcome I had hoped for.
I have not had a specific nine-month follow-up appointment, and there is no particular issue that currently requires a one-year visit.
However, I am still considering returning for a one-year postoperative check simply for reassurance and to confirm that everything continues to remain stable.
At nine months postoperatively, I remain very satisfied with the natural shape, maintained tip projection, and improved balance between my nose and overall facial profile.
