Three-Month Review After Functional Rhinoplasty Using Autologous Rib Cartilage
본문

My natural nose had a noticeably curved profile, similar to a pronounced soft curve, and it was relatively small and low in both height and overall size.
From the front, the tip also looked broad and somewhat bulbous, which made the area between my eyes appear wider than it actually was. I noticed this especially when I was not wearing makeup or using contouring around my nose.
That was my biggest concern, and I also hoped that improving my nose would give my overall facial appearance more definition and balance, which eventually led me to consider rhinoplasty.
Because my nose was quite small, I was told during consultation that using only septal or ear cartilage might not provide the degree of change I was hoping for. Although this was my first rhinoplasty, the explanation helped me understand why autologous rib cartilage could be a suitable option for the result I wanted.
One of the reasons I felt comfortable choosing RU Plastic Surgery was that Dr. Hyunju Kim personally oversees the process from the initial consultation and surgery through postoperative follow-up. I was also interested in the clinic’s experience with rhinoplasty using autologous rib cartilage.
During my consultation, both Dr. Kim and the clinic staff explained the surgical plan carefully and answered my questions in detail.
I ultimately underwent rhinoplasty with Dr. Hyunju Kim using a combination of silicone and autologous rib cartilage.
At three months postoperatively, I am very pleased with the shape. The nasal tip has a softly rounded appearance that suits my facial features, while still giving me the added height and definition I had hoped for.
People around me have also responded very positively to the result, and I am frequently asked where I had my surgery.
A few of my friends even went to RU Plastic Surgery for consultations after seeing my result and later underwent rhinoplasty there as well. Their results turned out beautifully too, so we now jokingly say that our noses all have the same “dad.”
