Six-Month Review After Revision Rhinoplasty for a Short Nose

After being dissatisfied with both my first and second rhinoplasty, I began looking for another clinic with the mindset that this would be my final revision surgery.
For my first rhinoplasty, I had surgery using ear cartilage and a silicone implant, but the shape turned out completely different from what I had hoped for.
For my second surgery, I went to a clinic known for dermal grafting and underwent revision rhinoplasty using gluteal dermis and ear cartilage. Unfortunately, the result still did not achieve the shape I wanted, which left me feeling extremely disappointed.
After having two surgeries using ear cartilage, I began to feel that because my natural nose was quite small, achieving the degree of change I wanted might require a different approach and a material that could provide more structural support.
I therefore started focusing my search on clinics with extensive experience in rib cartilage rhinoplasty.
While looking through revision cases, especially patients with small or contracted noses who had achieved significant improvement, I frequently came across reviews of Dr. Hyunju Kim at RU Plastic Surgery.
After having a consultation, I felt comfortable with the surgical plan and decided to proceed with Dr. Kim.
Although I was mainly concerned about the shape of my nose, I also personally preferred using my own tissue rather than relying on artificial materials. For that reason, I chose to undergo revision rhinoplasty using a fully autologous rib cartilage approach.
It has now been six months since the surgery.
I had been told that swelling could take longer to settle with this type of procedure, and I can definitely see a difference now that I have reached the six-month mark.
Even at around two to three months, I remember thinking that most of the swelling had already disappeared. However, after about half a year, the nose feels and looks noticeably more settled, and I now realize that there was still some residual swelling remaining at that earlier stage.
At this point, I feel that most of the residual swelling has subsided, and the overall shape has become more refined and natural compared with the earlier months of recovery.
