My Experience After Six Rhinoplasty Surgeries

This was my fifth revision rhinoplasty, making it my sixth rhinoplasty overall.
With my previous surgeries, either the nasal line did not turn out the way I wanted, or my nose gradually became deviated over time. I also experienced a loss of tip support after the donor rib cartilage used in a previous surgery appeared to resorb, which eventually led me to consider another revision.
Because this was already my fifth revision, I desperately hoped that this would finally be my last rhinoplasty.
At that point, cost was no longer my main consideration. I wanted to find a surgeon with a strong aesthetic sense, excellent surgical technique, and an approach that matched the type of result I wanted, so I visited several clinics for consultations.
That was how I came across RU Plastic Surgery.
After consulting with Dr. Hyunju Kim, I felt that his aesthetic direction aligned very closely with what I was looking for. His detailed and confident explanation of the surgical plan also gave me enough reassurance to schedule the surgery.
My main concerns were the deviation of my nose and the loss of tip support from the donor rib cartilage used previously.
For this revision, we decided to use autologous rib cartilage together with a customized implant to correct the deviated nose. We also planned to lower the upper bridge and radix area slightly to create the natural yet refined nasal line I wanted.
Having already gone through five previous rhinoplasty recoveries, I was very nervous because I remembered those recovery periods as being quite difficult.
Before surgery, however, the consultation coordinator was extremely kind and helped me feel much more comfortable and reassured.
What surprised me most was how different this recovery felt compared with my previous surgeries.
In the past, I had experienced significant bruising and swelling after rhinoplasty. This time, however, I personally experienced very little visible bruising or swelling during the first few days, which was completely unexpected.
The autologous rib cartilage donor site was also much more comfortable than I had anticipated, with very little pain in my case.
Because my previous recoveries had been so difficult, I was genuinely surprised by how manageable this one felt.
As for the result, I am extremely satisfied so far.
The nasal line has developed into the natural yet refined shape I had hoped for, and the nose now appears much straighter than before.
Looking back, one of my biggest regrets is that I did not meet Dr. Hyunju Kim at RU Plastic Surgery earlier. After going through so many revision surgeries, I am especially grateful to finally feel this satisfied with both the shape of my nose and the overall surgical experience.
